Roman Richard Ray Malinski

	Roman Richard Ray Malinski, age 88, of rural DuQuoin, died Saturday, February 3, 2001 at 7:58 p.m. in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital Skilled Care Unit.
	 Ray was born in DuBois on June 14, 1912, the son of William  V. and Suzanne (Szramkowski Sherman) Malinski.  He married Mary Catherine Seibert on September 12, 1933 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, DuQuoin, and she survives.  He was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, the United Mine Workers of America Local 7333, a farmer, coal miner and loved gardening.
	 Survivors include his wife:  Catherine, four sons:  John D. Malinski and his wife Judy of Pinckneyville, William L. Malinski and his wife Loretta of Kent, Wash., Thomas J. Malinski and his wife LaVerna of Pinckneyville and Steven Joe Malinski and his wife Karen of Pinckneyville, two daughters:  Mary Ann Mann and her husband Joe of Pinckneyville, Sue Dalman and her husband Mike of Tamaroa, two sisters:  Victoria Marquenski of Tamaroa and Frances Belben of Chicago, 21 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter:  Jane Duckworth and her husband Bob, four brothers, Frank, Edward, Sylvester and albert and a great-grandson, Jason Andrew Kesler.
	 Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 6 at 10 a.m. in St. Bruno Catholic Church with Fr. John Venegoni officiating.  Interment was in the St. Bruno Cemetery.
	Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8 until 9:30 a.m.   The Rosary was said on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
	Memorials may be made to the St. Bruno School or St. Bruno Cemetery.
